Besök från Australien.

VITTSJÖ. Hello, my name is Alyssa Beckley, I am a 16 year old Australian student and I have come to Sweden as part of the Lions club youth exchange program.

Rebecka and I at Hanne and Nils home.

I arrived in Sweden from Australia on the 30th of November after a total of 21 hours flight time to stay here for three weeks. After my time here I will travel to Finland for three more weeks then I will travel to London for a three day stopover before heading back to Australia to my hometown of Yarragon South. I live an hour and a half away from the city of Melbourne in the state of Victoria. I go to high school in the town of Trafalgar and am about to enter my last year of school.

We are eating “äbleskiver”.

My first week here was spent in Hässleholm, I spent time at Hässleholms Tekniska Skolan where I made a number of presentations to students about where I come from and the differences between Australia and Sweden. During my first week I also visited Kristianstad for Saint Lucia celebrations and have also been to the Christmas market at Tykarpsgrottan.
My last two weeks in Sweden have been spent with Nils and Hanne Hansen in Vittsjö.

Visit in Tivoli.

I have attended the school in Bjärnum experiencing daily school life for students, spent a day in Tivoli with Bjärnums school student Rebecka Widell and been a part of the Christmas lunch held by the SPF society.

I have also spent three days exploring the nature around Karatorp Ekelund where I stayed at a holiday house with another girl participating in youth exchange from Australia.

I will be attending the Lions Christmas meeting before taking the train overnight to Stockholm to then take a plane to Finland. I have enjoyed my time spent in the beautiful country of Sweden and experiencing many different traditions and creating new friendships and memories.
